I bought a 2x4 two storey c&c cage and my mum was fine with it in the beginning, now she's really mad about it because my room is small and it's just making it look messy. So we've decided to move it into a small bedroom that just has wardrobes and drawers in it and also our treadmill. For this to work we're going to get rid of the treadmill and the drawers however my mum has like a plug in diffuser I think its called and she adamant that she won't get rid of it. I'm not a person who likes smells so the diffusers give me a headache, will it affect my guinea pigs if they're in the same room as one? One of my guinea pigs has URI and has for 6 weeks so it may not be URI and it could just be a heart-related issue, I don't want to make it worse or make any of them ill :( Advice?

I was wondering about things that too. I am a candle and wax melter enthusiast but have been too scared to use them since i got the pigs. Anyone know if these are okay?

Maybe let her know that plug in diffusers are a major cause of house fires. Search it up on the internet and you'll see.

I've told her in the past, I am training to work in the public services so we have to learn about these things - I wouldn't say they are a major cause of house fires but they do cause them, she's not too bothered though. I think they're only on when we're in the house, we have a total of four I think, I always turn the one in the living room off though because I hate the smell and it gives me a headache.

I thought anything that you spray or plug in, is bad for the piggies, you think they only have small lungs & I would think it is not good.
That's what I had thought too. I think we've come to an arrangement, we're taking one floor off so its just a single 2x4. That way the boys can stay in my room - just how I like it. Hopefully the idea still sounds good to her when we've done it.
