Which do you use and prefer for the bottom of your C&C cage?

Lino

or

Corrugated Plastic Sheeting?

Correx. Lino is fine but you can't move the cage well with it in. My pigs LOVED to chew the lino, too. Used lino for a couple of years then switched to correx. Far more hard wearing - had to replace the lino more than once in 2 years.

Just a quick question, do put grids at the bottom of the cage for the base too? Thanks for your response! :))

think i'm having a dumb day - what's c&c?

In the cage I have for my guinea, I dont use anything on the floor - just line it with newpaper and the usual.

But in the hutch i wanted to put something down to prevent damage to the wood. I decided against corrugated plastic etc as it is quite difficult to get hold of i think and dont know how easy or difficult it would be to cut to fit. I liked the idea of lino, but wasnt sure if she would chew it! I bought a pack of vynl floor tiles, and placed them on the floor of the hutch. These are so easy to clean! :)

hi mabel

its a cage, made up of grids, if you type it in search lots of links will come up with piccies. Alternatively, go to top of Housing and there is sticky link for C&C cages!

I have a question about keeping the Correx clean. I have a 3x3 base for the lower level of my cage.

Now the top edges of the cage are "open" as in, I have not sealed the Correx off, and like you can see >>HERE<< hay always gets stuck in these little pockets that the Correx is made of. When I clean the base in the garden with the hosepipe, I have unsuccessfully tried to get the stuff out, but to no avail - they have just slipped in even deeper :(

Has anybody here sealed their Correx off at the top, if so, what with, and if not, how do you keep it clean?
