A certain couple of my boy's pong. The pong is quite strong and I don't want to wear a peg on my nose. My daugher says perhaps it would be a good idea to spary the offending two with aftershave (I know this is not a good idea LOL)

So any advice on bathing a pig would be greatly received. My husband says he sant smell the pong, perhaps it a boy thing 6)

Boys do tend to omit a foul odout particualy when a sow is in season. It may be also the boys making his territory so to speak. I must admit that I find my boys far better in the toilet department that girl. My boys have favoured pooping spots whereas my girls just go at random all over the cage. Maybe best to check out your piggies bum area including the penis to make sure there are no blockages or foreign bodies that could be causing a pong. Good luck

Boys smell... its a manly thing.... I can smell worse than you. I am the bigger man :)). They should hopefully settle after time.

As Angie said it may be worth giving them a check, but it most likely is a case of male hormones.

I have noticed that since we got our boy the piggies have been quite a bit wiffier! Even when they are just cleaned, I do think it is a territory thing. Not sure the best thing to do about it though. We were hoping that once he had settled the smell would reduce, fingers crossed!

It is definately a boy thing but they do still need bathing from time to time. The best thing to do, I have learned from watching an expert (hannah101) is to run a bowl of luke warm water and hold your piggy in your left hand in the bowl of water. Use a small pastic cup in your right hand and scoop the water up over your piggy. Have your shampoo ready and just make sure you are prepared to grab your piggy if they make a run for it lol.

If you need any help I am just down the road xx

Hm, Sometimes the cage smells, but I think that's mostly the fleece. (when it's pretty new and shouldn't really smell, and not in that way) but I haven't noticed that the piggies themselves are smelly. My boy is neutered, does this affect his smellyness?

This has caused hysterics in our house :)) Hold your pig in one hand ! I pick my piggies up with two hands and sit down very quickly. The smelly ones are very very giddy and I dont want to drpo them :...
I do have a solution though, we will have to book an extra holiday at Center Parcs then they can go for the 3 B's (bed, breakfast and bath) at Helen or Beckys
:))

Oooo another good plug for the Becklen Pamper Package! Do you think becky could organise guinea pig short breaks with Centerparcs? It brings a whole different meaning to a Spa Holiday!
