Evening.
I have noticed one of my boys poop looks different. They seem formed, but very soft and moist feeling.

Then just now, I found a clumped poop in his hay box.

I have attached photos of both.

He seems ok in himself, he’s currently sat nibbling on hay, and he’s eaten his veggies this evening and generally seems ok.

Do you have any advice?

Thank you so much

This could suggest the start of a minor digestive upset (soft poops).
If poops appear darker than normal then that can also indicate a lot of fresh veg and less hay has been eaten

I would recommend that you stop all veg until they no longer feel too soft. Feed only hay (can still have the one tablespoon of pellets per day) for a few days and see if poops go back to normal.
If they do, then you can slowly reintroduce veg again - start with one sprig of a herb and see if poops remain ok; if they do can you can add in another sprig the next day; a piece of lettuce the next etc. If poops go soft again then stop veg again and see a vet.

Weigh him daily so you can ensure adequate hay intake

I hope he is ok

Thank you. He is neighbours with his old companion, and so I feel bad to give his buddy fresh food and not him! Can I still give him a peice of pepper for his vitamin C and maybe a bit of coriander? Just so he’s not totally left out, but still reducing the fresh food massively? Xx

Hello poor piggy
How old is he ?
My elderly pig (6.3) has impaction and sometimes his poops are like that usually when he needs clearing out.

Sadly he does need to stop all veg …could you give him a cookie while the others have veg ? Or a special pile of hay ?
I hope he gets on ok 🥰

If he's amenable, maybe you could feed him hay blade by blade so he's getting your full-on attention while his companion munches veggies. I had guineas who loved being fed blade by blade, despite having a pile in the cage to choose from. Or laptime and hand-feeding, again only if that's something he's familiar with and likes.

Sending healing vibes.
