Megan is a complete disgrace with no idea of personal hygiene. Her feet are covered in poo and I don't have any gorgeous guineas shampoo in.

So is there anything I can get from the supermarket or pets at home that we can use today to clean her feet?

have you just tried soaking them in water and then trying to get it off ? (:

We had baby chicks a while ago that had pooey feet, it worked a treat !

Yes it doesn't work! I have no idea how she manages to get it so ingrained, really need to be more organised and buy the gorgous guinea stuff.

Thanks for the idea.

hmm... two of my boars had hard stuff that looked like poo on there feet, they managed to get it off them selves by just walking around took a while though, it seemed to come off after there bath, and for that i just went to the vets and bought herbal shampoo stuff, hope someone else can help :/

is there anyway you could get gorgeous guineas stuff, she does nice trial sizes you could use (:

I think it will have to be water and do the best we can for now till the gg stuff can be delivered later in the week.
Megan is just a disgrace! So embarrasing to introduce to anyone, when she met merrypip the amount of poo produced on merrypips lap could have solved the worlds energy crisis!

If it aint soaking off with water are you sure it's not spurs...?
Failing that... Could you use an old tooth brush...?

Fairy liquid might be a shout- its designed to tackle stubborn greasey stuff ;). As its only the feet a wee soak in fairy hot water is worth a try I think x

Yeah, I have to agree, if it doesn't come off with just water then it isn't poo!

Aww little Megan. Amina used to have this problem. I soaked them in water and used wipes to clean them.

Dindy has the same problem inbetween her toes, even though I do three poo patrols a day. I have to 'manicure' her feet due to the build up of heal pads (like high heal wearers get in the back of their heals), spurs and a recuring scab from previous episodes of bumble foot. I have managed to teach Dindy to lie on her back on the very soft duvet. I taught her this by holding her on her back in the crook of my arm with her head towards my inner elbow so that I could tickle her under her chin and inspect her feet etc. So now, when she is on her back sunk nicely in the duvet, I can trim her heal pads and gently tease the hard poo out from her toe creases with a small pair of pointy scissers (sewing, cuticle type). I find it best to have Dindy at bed or settee hight so that I can comfortably kneel and work on her with both hands and use my elbows for support if neccessary. Dindy is such an uncomplaining patient so she allways gets a treat afterwards.
Having said all that, if the poo is soft, just use a very soft (baby?) tooth brush, dry at first and then wet to finish off.

No its not spurs - it really is just poo! Have a childs soft toothbrush we can use so will try that.

Thanks Dindypig will try to train megan to go on her back - should be pretty easy as she's so special she won't know whats going on!
