I have 2 x 10week old female piggies. Never had piggies before so dont know if this is normal ?

They seem to poo so much. Not that ive counted but would expect 100-120 poo droppings every day between them and wondered if this is normal or whether I'm feeding too much ? Seems normal texture.

They have a bowl of mix/pellets in the morning and veg at tea time which is 2 greens leaves, couple of slices of pepper, couple slices cucumber, 1/2 carrot and what ever else there might be. Also have hay and grass .

Can someone tell me if this is normal or whether i could be feeding them too much ?

Thanks

sounds perfectly normal, the thing to worry about is when they dont produce lots of poop! lol as long as the poop is firm then its fine :)

the amount of food they have sounds fine, make sure they have unlimited hay too.

if you look in the food section there is a shopping list it lists everything guineas can/cant eat on there :)

They work on a continuous cycle of digestion, which hay is an important part of. So, as well as being gorgeous, intelligent, fluffy creatures, they are also technically poo machines as their systems work all the time. Delightful! Seriously, yours sound fine. Drives me mad to look in on them an hour after I've cleaned them out...makes me wonder why I bother! 98) ;D :smitten: :smitten:

This seems like the behaviour of very healthy piggies! Eating and pooing continuously is supposed to be a good sign that their digestive systems are working properly. I believe some guineas show social etiquette by only pooing in certain places that they reserve as toilets. Mine, however, go everywhere, including in their food bowls. I don't know how to teach them that this is not really polite!

lol i have 3 piggies and they poo more than i have ever known an animal to do. it's perfctly normal.... :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
