Is this poo ok, if not what is it a sign of? We have 3 piggies, about 9 weeks old, only 1 does poo like this, and only sometimes. 20160401_185449.webp

I have seen my guinea pigs do poos like this and haven't been unduly concerned .

I think we should wait for a health and illness advisor to give us some more advice.

I have found this thread ....

What can you tell from piggy poop?!

..but please don't get too alarmed if you read it - it refers to "tear shaped - with tails on " . I don't think we can class the poos you have seen as having tails on .

Thanks, I think it might be she's a bit dehydrated, she won't use the water bottle, and they seem to poo in the water bowl the minute I put it in there. That or too much leafy greens.

If you think she is a bit dehydrated, you could try offering her some cucumber .......

Slightly pointy teardrop shaped poos are usually a sign of mild dehydration. I would wash all veg so that there is additional water on them and press the watery veggies such as cucumber to see if it helps.

I wouldn't worry yet; size and consistency are looking normal for a piggy of that age.

The peak can indicate a hint of the digestion being little off, but if you have got only one poo out of order then there is no reason to panic. It can happen from time to time.
