URGENT (tomorrow morning!) vet visit [*]to check there is no obstruction [/*]before being given metaclopromide injection to get his gut moving again. You can then carry on with oral metaclopromide and syringe feed him like mad to get his guts moving again...grass and dandelions also help. He needs to eat properly!

Sorry Hun, but with poos that size, metaclopramide tomorrow am is his best hope as he gut is alost in comlete in stasis..but with the treatment above he will/can make full recovery. .BUT he needs it fast! Accept no alternative.

Lordy - my fingers completely lost the plot in the last paragraph!

I meant to say -" as his gut is almost in complete stasis" (judging from the poo pics)

Good luck tomorrow with the vets - sorry it means you have yet another hour's journey..but it could save this little one;s life.

If you can syringe feed fluids/CC down him tonight that may help although be conservative in case he has a blockage

hes just taken 6ml of critical care and another 3ml of water...
would a half dose of fiber-plex be apropriate...?
or is that totally wrong...?
x

Should be OK to give him 0.2ml (don;t know what half a dose is?) until you get the all clear there is no obstruction....then up to 1.0ml per day (0.5ml twice daily) for 2-3 days

sorry for not being clearer... :)
like insterad of turning the syringe to the next number turn it to half way... :)
hes had some more critical care and water... hopefully that will keep him going...
thanks
xxxxoxo

Each whole number is 1.0ml. If he will take 0.5ml then OK but give no more.

It is unlikely he has an obstrcution...but it must be ruled out first before you start cramming him with food!

just read the first reply back... i read it wrong...
no more syringe foodies then...
hes asleep on my tummy at the mo...
I'm worried he might have some sort of injurie(internal) as the woman who had him said her some used to grab at him and really rough handle him... grrrr

spoke to the vets this morning...
his poo is alot better this morning...

had a conversation with the vets and it was decided that feeding him critical care and liquids was the best approach... as his poo's are allot more normal today...

seems theres no lasting damage... figners crossed...
i'll put up a pic...

Yep - looks like that is the case. Thank heavens he may not need a gut stimulant. I have seen this before only in a couple of piggies - if not too far gone, then with proper food they suddenly start pooping properly.

Well done- you got him out and gave him the "right stuff" in the nick of time!...(but be prepared for a few ups and downs whilst the gut sorts itself out and find its previous regular motility - you have my number if you have any worries)
