I have recently noticed these poos in my piggies cage, what does it mean?

Hi!

Your guinea pig has a tiny tummy upset. If in doubt take it off any fresh veg for a day or two to allow the gut to rebalance.

See a vet if that doesn't do the trick and/or if your guinea pig loses over 50g of weight. Switch to weighing daily at the same time instead of weekly until things are back to normal

This happened to my Enoch after he'd been out on the grass. I took him off grass and fresh veg for 48 hours and the poos would usually rectify themselves within a few days

So you reintroduced the veg before the poops looked normal again? Fifi's and Darcy's still don't look right and it's been over 48 hours now, so was thinking I'd have to get them checked at the vet.

No, I wouldn’t give him veg again until the poos had rectified themselves, sorry for the confusion. Sometimes it could be longer than 48 hours. Do you have any fibreplex or any other probiotic? That sometimes helped to restore his gut

Ok Claire, thanks for the clarification! I think I have some Pro C still, but think I used to put a bit on a piece of cucumber - it's been so long since I've needed to use it. Is there another way to give it?

I was giving Ellen Pro C a few weeks ago as she was prescribed baytril. She too took it on a piece of cucumber but you can also sprinkle it on other food (providing they eat it) or mix with water and syringe straight in to the mouth. I decided not to do that will Ellen as she has enough syringes
