Hi All

Lovely Mario has great pain when pooing.. and squeaking when weeing. The vets can't decide if he has another UTI despite taking samples ..(he has free catchment problems due to abnormal sheath).. he had had one course of the banana one (" trix.. ). .. he is much calmer as he was beside himself previous to vets even when on 2 X loxicom 8kg dose per day. Had an injection of opiods... Which really didn't sit well with him had to syringe feed and he didn't really move for a few days.. he is definitely calmer but still obviously in pain.. his poos are starting to appear broken at times.. and he has great pain passing them.. my question is has anyone else had this before? He is on cystassist for cystitis and we have to manage urate crystals which are potentially a bi product of two benign cysts (not growing) on kidneys... He is otherwise in the most excellent health I've ever seen a guinaepig in..😔. Thanks for your help

Oh and I think the gut flora may have swung to slight constipation.. do am keeping up with fluids and he's in probiotics anyway when he has antibiotics

Poor little fella. Urinary problems can cause thus issue, amongst other things. Has the vet checked for bladder stones?
My RB boy Larry had this issue - partly due to bladder problems, but also due to spondylosis of his lower spine... Might be worth an x ray!
Tramadol may be an option for pain relief alongside metacam too.

Also to say he's had an x-ray and ultrasound this year already... Nothing other than cysts
