I deep cleaned Sweets cage today and usually as soon as I put him in a cleaned out cage he thinks it's time to poo and pee on EVERYTHING rolleyes, which he did successfully pee on mostly everything :)) but I haven't found any poo's I cleaned the cage out about 3 hours ago and he was running around on the floor for about a half hour before that too and no poo's on the floor either?/. He does have a litter box but he still poo's outside of it too... should I be extremely worried? Because I am. :(

Hello

Is your piggy eating and drinking normally, getting lots of hay? While he's been running around did he pop his head down underneath now and then? Piggies eat quite a lot of their own poo to keep the gut healthy, it may have been that he was pooing but eating them as soon as they appeared.

If he hasn't returned to pooing normally, the poo is mis-shapen or he seems in discomfort when he does poo then there may be a problem - poo is a good indicator of general health and it's good that you noticed a change. Hopefully it was just a short poo free time and all is well again now.

He's always got hay pellets and two full water bottels and he was eating and drinking normally. I think he just had a poo free time lol, It was a long one but he wasn't eating it, He doesn't eat a whole lot of his poo anymore since I started him on veggies. His cage is how covered in poo. Who knew I could be so excited about poo?

oh good he has poo'd great.

Two things i have learnt about guinea pigs from my recent loss is

eating regularly and pooing regularly are verrry important.
