Is she on any antibiotics? (and particularly septrin?). Has she been given any injections?

Meds often contain colour dyes that get filtered out by the kidneys into a piggy's wee .......and give their slaves a bit of a shock...but are harmless!

No - she not had anything new. It's very strange. X

Thanks for the response, So clearly it's not about meds in this case.

I've had this "dried orange wee" with my own pigs when sick on several occasions and, whilst alarming, it has been harmless and cleared up when the pig improves.

Aww that's good to hear - I'm hoping it's maybe a UTI or a gut problem rather than dental hence the picking at food.

She came home from the vet with An appetite stimulant, recovery Rabbit Supreme, and liquid fibre, which she loves. All her poop is back to normal. You wouldn't know anything was wrong now apart from the luminous pee! Lol

Thanks for all your help- it's much appreciated. X x x

Hi Pebble,
Aspen has just come round from her anaesthetic - all went well.

One of her back molars was protruding over her tongue so its been filled down. He said she will need to get her calories from hay with just a few nuggets per day.

He said it could happen again but some pigs are fortunate and once is enough. He said I caught it mega early though.

I also asked about the bright yellow urine - he said it can happen when Guinea pigs are stressed and should clear up in a week.

Any tips on how to help me manage teeth problems going forward?

@sport_billy yes we still use Glenn. He's did quite a few dentals for my lot.

Hopefully your little one picks up soon! :-)

Aww thanks - Glenn said she did well and was a great patient. She had a long protruding molar, he said we caught it exceptionally early which was good.

He really does know his stuff with Piggies!
