What can these poops tell you about two of my piggies?

The thinner poops with a tail are from Nelli, she’s an elderly pig. Her appetite and everything is fine, but her poops have looked like this for a few days now - they’re a normal consistency, but all different shapes with tails.

The fatter, rounder poops are from Koda. Ever since we’ve had her, she’s had a weird belly. Her belly always makes really loud gurgling noises, that sound like humans when we really need to go to the toilet - it can be heard across the room. She sometimes is painful with her poops, but most of the time she’s fine. We’ve been to the cavy savvy vets, who had noted that her belly feels a bit “distended” but they didn’t seem concerned about bloat. She’s well within herself, but I can’t seem to understand these recurrent tummy issues.

is there anything I can do for them? I’ve been giving them both probiotics (via syringes because they won’t touch it if it’s in bottles). I also give them probiotic pellets (the profibre one). Is there anything I can supplement with, perhaps daily? such as giving Critical Care bc it contains a lot of fibre, or doing daily massages for Koda? And why would Nelli’s poops look like this for about a week now, when she has no signs of illness otherwise (appetite is fine, toileting regular, weight stable etc).

Are they both off fresh veg now? I don’t know what could be causing it. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be along soon.

I haven’t taken them off yet, because the poop is a completely normal texture - I only tend to do it if their stool goes really soft. Koda’s poops have been like this for months (even when we’ve tried her off veggies etc), and Nelli’s has been like this for about a week.
It’s very odd and I’m not sure what I can do to help them :(

They look a bit dark to me and the pointy end is usually typical for a very mild tummy upset.

Personally, I would take a piggy of mine off fresh veg for a day or two and give them poo-soup or probiotic support to rebalance the gut microbiome whenever they present with poos like that.

Thank you! We’ve tried this with Koda multiple times, but she always produces poop like this - even though she has been completely checked over multiple times by the vets. It’s so confusing, and I’m not sure what I can do to help.

I have the Vetark probiotic, would you recommend trying to syringe that to her daily for a while?

I would just sprinkle a pinch on their pellets, it’s a lot easier. have you tried Fibreplex, that is very good too
