While I was holding one of my guinea pigs I noticed she had a little bit of poop between her nails, i tried to rub it off but she did not approve. Should a use a wet paper towel to rub the poo off or just leave it be?

You can do either. Poo can get very hard when it dries and cannot be easy to remove.

We used to have a special needs piggy Megan. With her various issues she used to stand in her poo at times while zoning out (brain damaged) we used to have to occasionally pop her in a very shallow tupperware of warm after and carefully soak the poo to remove it. Luckily Moo had no prey reflex due to her issues so was easy to do as nothing bothered her

I have soaked paws in a bowl of warm water while handfeeding treats to keep the piggie still in order to get off really caked on poop! That stuff can be like cement! I generally try to get it off if it's around a nail or otherwise looks like it would be uncomfortable to walk on.
