Sorry a silly question but now its nicer weather my boys go out in a run when I'm home weather permitting.

They obs poo a lot on the grass, am i meangbto be sweeping it up or will it decompose down into the ground?

Sorry for the silly question

I sweep up as much as I can particularly if the run is going to be in the same place for a couple of days. Once it’s moved to a different area, if there is only a little bit, it tends to go through the lawnmower!

I pick up the poop and dump it in the flower beds or the veg patch, it's good for the plants. I do this daily once I've put the piggies back in their hutch. I move the run to a new spot every couple of days and I prefer not to have poop spread over bits of lawn that I might want to walk on!

I think it comes down to personal preference, the size of your lawn, and the size of the run.

Our lawn is more of a 'wildflower meadow' style - aka not very pretty.
Our run is large and there only tends to be concentration of poops where the houses have been.
I move the houses daily and quickly rake over the poopy areas to spread them out a bit.
Once a week (or more often if the piggies are out daily and it hasn't rained) I water the whole area well.

I brush up any large clusters and throw them on the flower beds, any odd spread out ones I leave to feed the grass. The poop soon disolves into the soil with a bit of rain.

OK thanks for the replies everyone.

Yes its under their houses lots of poo. I dont plan on moving their pen around as I have a small tortoise that is in a pen next to them and have kids who want to play in the garden. So the pens stay in the top corner. Thanks everyone
