Help my guinea pig who is two years 11 months is not feeling well. She is not eating very much, but is drinking. I took her to the vet who put her on antibiotics. She has been on antibiotics for a day and half now. Poops are dry and tear dropped shaped. She is puffy or fluffing her coat. A few poops normal. Was it too much grass or I put her in another guinea cage and she ate their food. Was it their pellets, or I saw her eat a large slice of celery. May something else she found in their cage? She is not a newborn pup. Need help please reply.

Hello and a big warm welcome to the forum,

Sorry to hear that your sweetie is ill, what did the vet say? If she’s not eating this will make funny shaped poops are you feeding her critical care or mushed up pellets? If she’s stopped eating you should be able to buy Critical care from your vet as well as the syringe or online- but you can use hot water (cooled) and pellets which you crush into a paste, and syringe feed into the side of the mouth in small quantities.

Hi and welcome to you and your piggies to the forum :)
sorry to hear about your little one........... how's things going? :...
As Laura said mushed up pellets are good too.
Ask your vets for the critical care and the probiotics.
You can also make poop soup.....not pleasant but it's using the poops from a healthy piggie, you then mix with a little water till you can get it to a consistancy that you can syringe into the sick piggie.
Healing vibes for your little one XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
