Poops Smaller Than Normal

i have noticed over the last week or so that one of the boys is passing smaller poops than normal. They are still perfectly formed, just smaller. Their diet has not changed and they both appear completely healthy. Is this anything to worry about?

Weigh him daily at the same time of feeding cycle, either before or after their dinner, to see whether there is an issue. Smaller poos can mean a somewhat decreased food intake - remember that up to 80% of the food intake is hay, so watching him eat can be deceptive. If there is a ongoing weight loss of over 50g, then I would see a vet. Loss of appetite is often due to a pain issue.
 
sounds like a slowed down digestion or eating less as wiebke has said. cannot offer more advice than has already been given - weighing regularly and seeing the vet :) x
 
I shall definitely do that. If one if them is off their food I will be very surprised as they both are tucking into everything as normal (veg, hay and nuggets) and still chasing me for more so it makes me worry that there might be something different going on.

As you are a very observant owner, you often notice things very early on when other symptoms are not yet visible. All you can do at this stage, is to observe and to take any steps if there are further developments. It may just be a little blip, it can end with a vet visit. Rest assured that whatever it is, you have caught it early on.
