I was cuddling two of my boys yesterday and noticed that both of them have cracked a front tooth off right a the front :'( also one of them looks like they've got an infected spot of some kind on their head which is all yellow and weepy and is about the size of a penny. Nothing like this has happened to my pigs before, I'm a bit worried about the teeth, has anyone had this kind of problem before? I know they can suffer badly from teeth problems...

To make things worse to of my rats need to go to the vets as well. One of them tilts his head to the side continuously...I'm hoping it's an ear infection. The other looks like he's got a growth in his eye :'(. Just needed to put it down on here as I'm dead nervous about the vets...

Aw, this must be really stressful for you :-\.
The rat with the tilt probs does have an ear infection, so try not to let that worry you too much.
The rat with the eye problem will hopefully be okay if you take him to the vet asap.
Cracked teeth are fine-all they need is for the opposite tooth to be trimmed so it doesnt get overgron. This has happened to me before so dont worry :)
As for the pig with the growth, it sounds like an abcess or something similar so I'd definately get it checked out.
Try not to worry too much and get them to the vets asap to put your mind at rest :)

No advice for you, sorry.
Just wanted to wish you luck at the vets. :) O0

Thanks for that :) just a bit weird when nothing like this has happened before :-\

I know all the ilnesses seem to come at once
Once I was ill when both by guineas and my bunny fell ill and as I couldnt handle them at risk of making it worse for them, I wasnt able to nuture them and I had to stand by and let my family do it
It was torture

Oh wow that sounds awful, hope everything puled through ok though? I kind of know what you mean though, I really want to clean the growth on my pig Popcorn but I don't know what it is so i've got to leave it! Really hard.

We were all fine in the end luckily :)
About the growth, I think you clean it with water and something else but please dont follow that advice as I'm not sure. Does anyone else know?

Good to hear you were all fine :)

I did dab it with a dry tissue just to get rid of the 'stuff' on the outside but have left it after that. Like you I'm not sure about it 98)

It does sound like an abcess, but its hard to tell from a description-do you think you could get a pic on here? Then we could tell you what to do about it

It's like buses (not that I use them!)...Nothing and then they all come at once!

I hope they are all okay. I'm sure your vet will sort them out ;)

Take Care,
Cathy
