I'm so upset, I've just lost BillyPig. He hadn't been himself for about a week and vet initially thought teeth trouble so he had surgery on Tuesday and had spurs filed off his back teeth. He just didn't seem any better afterwards though, sitting hunched up in his cage, not interested in anything, not eating & not drinking. I had been giving him Metacam and syringe feeding him Science Recovery and water but with no improvement. He went been back to the vet this morning (and saw one of the partners who I trust) and he said that BillyPig was dehydrated and he suspected that it was his kidneys that was the problem. He suggested there were a few things we could try but that it didn't look good and he thought BillyPig was suffering. We made the very difficult decision for him to be PTS. Am sat in work now alternately sniffling & running to the loo for a sob. Poor BillyPig, I'm just guilt-ridden that he may have suffered for longer than I realised. Hopefully I did the right thing for him.

Oh my darling I'm so sorry - couldn't believe it when this popped up!

Don't you dare blame yourself for one minute - I know how much care and attention each and every piggy gets. BillyPig was the happiest pig on the planet!

Give me a ring when you get the chance and we'll have a sob together.

Suzy x

I'm so sorry for your loss, RIP BillyPig xxxxx Just remember he's at the Rainbow Bridge now, in no pain whatsoever xxxxxx Hugs xxxxxxx

awwww I'm so sorry, you must be devastated, rip BillyPig, run free x

Please do not give yourself a hard time, you have made a real tough decision based on the love you have for your baby, you didnt let him suffer.

We all do it, but honestly, dont beat yourself up, you gave him a loving home, thats all they want xxxxxxxxx

Am so sorry, please don't beat yourself up. It sounds like he had a wonderful life with you. Sweet dreams Billypig.

I'm so sorry for your loss! Rest in peace, Billypig!

BIG HUG

It is a very heartbreaking decision that you had to make and even harder at this time of the year.

You have done everything you could for Billypig and have spared him more suffering, so please don't feel guilty (even though, being such a responsible and loving owner, you probably can't avoid it)!

RIP Billypig - popcorn free of pain and discomfort again!

Thank you all so much, honestly you have no idea how much your comments mean, I'v just been bawling again but in a good way, if you know what I mean? The one thing that is upsetting me now is that I can't bear the thought of BillyPig being outside in this weather, I keep thinking he'll be cold- silly isn't it. Bless him. Thank you again. x ps. Suzy, Extra thank you-as soon as I can speak without dribbling snot all over the phone I'll give you a shout. xx

I'm so sorry for your loss.
I quite understand what you mean about being cold. After I lost one of my hamsters I cried my eyes out because it rained just after he was buried and I didn't want him getting wet.
RIP precious BillyPig. Run free x
