Boris still not getting any better...after 3lots of antibiotic his eye is still weeping white fluid! He's had 2 lots of baytril and one lot of septrim....
as you can see he is happy enough just very thin! I've been putting the snuggle safe in on a night time to keep him warm! any advice will be welcomed!
 
I'm sorry that Boris is no better & that I don't have any advice - just wanted to say he is gorgeous & I'll keep my fingers crossed that he is better soon xx
 
Oh - poor Boris.

Have you got a good piggy vet? If you want a second opinion I can always passed on details of the vet I use who is exotic pet trained and very very good with guineas.

where is the vet Layla? please xxxxx

the vet I've seen a few times, seems to know about guinea pigs....she says its an abcess,hence the white pus coming from the eye!
 
Gateshead on the Durham Road. She is very good, and a consultation with her is about £14 so if you want another opinion I rate her very highly.
 
Do you mean the "pus" is coming from the eyeball or from the eye-socket?

my piggy smokey had white liquid coming from his eye recently and the vet and rescue i go through both confirmed it as what piggies use to groom themselves and that it causes no harm,maybe it could be something else making your boy sick?
i hope he gets better x

but he has lost more than half his body weight!
also his eye is very swollen!

thats why i suggested he may be ill with something else?its just alot of illnesses make a piggy lose weight,it was only a suggestion as i saw a similar safe thing with my boys and thought your boy might have the same thing xx
 
A swollen eye, together with a discharge, is indicative of an infection.
Is there a discharge if you gently press the area around the eye?
