Tallulah
Junior Guinea Pig
Hi all
Flora is back from the vets and has been given the all clear from her chest. Hooray! But she's still not putting on weight. She's only lost 20g in the last fortnight so she's fine but the vet is now questioning if she has teeth issues too.
Last night I fed her all her favourites and she rushed up then sniffed them, looked like she would eat them and just ignored them. When I held up the kale to her she ate it super quick.
This morning most of it has gone so she is eating hay, pellets, cucumber, kale, coriander and dandelions. Just not a lot.
The other day I held her and fed her a slice of apple, she ate half and then started biting it and dropping what she'd bitten. But she had eaten half the slice and so I put this down to being all snuffly and maybe didn't want to chew if her nose was snuffled up.
The vet tried to see her teeth but her mouth was full of hay and so he couldn't see. What do you folks think? She's only five months, could her teeth be that bad if she is eating? When she eats she eats at a normal speed. I've looked at her front teeth and they look ok to me. One is a smidge shorter than the other like she's chipped it but they look pretty good otherwise. I can't get to her molars to see.
Could she have bad teeth and still be eating at all?
