Poor Guinea

Do not worry, a neglected piggy is not overly different to a looked after piggy. Both want love and food and you are able to provide this. It might just take a little more time for s/he to build their trust in you. I know its early days but if it is a male you could consider neutering to bond with your girls.
I have a neuterd boy and girl .its strange I have always been confident with animals but when I got Edward (my first ever guinea) I didn't seem to have that with him and find myself worrying about everything to do with guineas I think its because I have never kept them before.

He/she is about five, lovely little guinea can anyone tell the sex please

Lovely piggy! He? Will get the love and care he deserves for the rest of his life x

No, as they are, they are looking rather like a girl's to me too. You may want to very gently press on the belly just above the knob to make sure that nothing is popping out. A boy's knob is usually round whereas a girl's is more angular, especially when you look at it sideways.

I'd have to agree with @Wiebke that this piggy is a girl, I've got two boys and it's immediately obvious that they have big testicles and a penis! Although I'm no expert, this could just be a small boy :) I'm so happy that this piggy is now in loving hands!

The testicles are very obvious on my boys (they wobble when they walk) so if you can't notice I'd say you've got a girl! Which is the best it could have been, Edward gets another wife! :D

she is gorgeous Nicky, thank goodness you took her in. I look forward to meeting her next week. X

I never thought to look for testicles:wub::lol!:
The testicles descend only after a few months (usually around 4 months of age when the teenage months hit). Baby boys don't show them and neither do neutered boars.

Gorgeous! so happy for you both! is she timid? re names are edward and mrs simpson from somewhere? excuse my ignorance!

How beautiful, how lucky for her that you stepped in. Not that it needs to be mentioned but my boys bits look nothing like that either, especially Kev's! Hopefully she will get a clean bill of health and you can have a lovely little trio going soon enough.

Thank you:D you see we got rid of Edwards so early i am not use to seeing them:lol!:

one of the king edwards had a mistress called mrs simpson he had to abdicate. quite a scandal at the time!

Yes she is timed but when I held her and stroked her she sat and closed her eyes and looked really happy.Edward the eighth abdicated so he could marry Wallis Simpson it was in 1936 don't worry loads of people don't get it.
