Adult Guinea Pig
I've been to the vet this morning with Max 8...
He has been losing weight gradually since christmas so I booked him in to see the vet (he's still eating etc as normal) however, last night when I gave the pigs their supper I noticed he was struggling eating (he hadn't done this before) when I looked in his mouth, he has broken his two front top teeth 8...8... I can only think that this is through biting the bars at food time?
The vet has said his teeth will be ok but I have to keep an eye on his bottom ones as they may need filing down. He also checked him over & couldn't find any obvious reason for weight loss - his back teeth are fine. He did a urine sample & said that everything was fine although there was something to suggest his kidneys may not be functioning 100% but only borderline (can't remember what this was but def wasn't protein). Poor baby, he is managing to eat & drink ok but it just takes him a bit longer & I have to help him pick things up
He's 3 & a half xx
