These three sows were handed in today..all sisters and 3 years old
Clementine, Mango and Lychee

You may notice on the picture that little Mango..is.. well..little..I asked the woman handing her in why she is small and woman said no idea but was quieter than other two..the kids in the car had got bored of looking after them so called me..
I looked at her mouth..and

her teeth were growing into her gums and top one is rotten..she also has open sores on her feet

When I said no wonder she wasn't growing she probably couldn't eat very well the girl who was about 10-11 years old laughed

..then shrugged when I glared at her....so I told the children what I thought and said how disgusting it was that they didn't even care that they had let a living thing suffer
Mango's feet have been cleaned and Sudocremed..and her teeth have been filed down..I've left them with a pile of chopped and grated veg..will weigh her tomorrow and keep an eye on her..poor thing

Poor wee piggies. With a bit of TLC from you they will thrive.

Glad that the piggy's have gone to someone who will love them and not neglect them. I cant believe how some people treat animals! It makes me mad sometimes.
When I first went to see my Joey (white/ginger) he was a mess! No hair, nails needed clipping and he needed a bath, again the lady told me the 'kids' didn't want him anymore. He had a tiny cage and only paper as lining, smelly bed and only dry food. He is a different piggy now. He was my first ever piggy and he was advertised as free I'm so lucky I saved him. He now has a friend from a local rescue centre and I've had them a year now. Sorry to babble but it makes me so cross, especially when people don't care.

It makes you so angry, doesn't it? Sometimes you really wish that sins could be visited on their perpetrators!

those teeth are just b***** disgusting. I know I am not a parent, but am due to be one next May, but why do parents let these children get bored of them - I tell you what, when this baby of ours comes I am going to try my god dam hardest to make sure they are animal lovers like me and they never get bored of looking after them. I saw on TV once a woman said to her child, if you dont feed your new dog then I wont feed you and then one tea time she didn't until he fed the dog and he now always make sures the dog gets fed every day! sorry for my little rant!

Well poor little Mango has had a proper inspection today and she has a fungal infection in her mouth..hence her rotting teeth..plus the state of all her teeth is dreadful..her back ones are growing across her throat and into her cheeks and gums

Her jaw is completely mis-shapen..this is probably down to the teeth pushing it out of sinc
The spurs that were easily reached have been trimmed but she is going up to our rodentologist tomorrow who will assess her and see if her problems are treatable
How this poor piggie has survived this long is beyond me..she has been slowly starving to death

Tonight I am syringe feeding her..
please send extra special vibes for this poorly little girl
 
Poor little Mango...I'm just thankful that they all got handed to someone who knows and cares about them.

Those don't sound much like children. They sound like little brats.
Sorry for the language but it makes me mad.

You must know if your child is responsible enough to look after a pet or not.
And the fact that that girl laughed...It makes me...:)>>> UGH.

I'm just so glad that Mango and the others are with you now.
Please let us know how she gets on. I'll be thinking about her untill I go insane, otherwise. 8... Poor baby.
 
oh my, that picture turned my stomach. I hope she pulls through!

Wales1000, I have just had a baby (2 months today) and I was very pleased to see him very interested/curious about my 2 piggies. When I wind him on the couch he is at eye level with the cage and there's no stopping him staring and wriggling and bouncing to get a better view...
 
Poor little Mango. My girls send healing wheeks as well, poor little starving piggie. I do hope recovery is swift and straighforwards.
 
Geez, what is up with some people? How can they not notice something that badly wrong with their piggie? Sorry, no silly question...they don't care! People like that absolutely infuriate me. Especially when kids have that attitude.

Bless you for taking on these piggies, they are in good hands now. I only hope something can be done for poor Mango. There are a couple of drugs you can use for internal fungal problems; Daktarin Oral Gel may well be worth a good try. It won't reverse Mango's problems at this stage, but it will soothe and hopefully prevent things getting worse. Best of luck, please do keep us updated. x
 
My heart goes out to Mango, how people can neglect their animals is beyond me. It's utterly disgusting how they just left her to starve. Thank goodness that you took Mango and her sisters on when you did, the world needs more people like you. I really hope that the vets can do something to help poor little Mango, she looks so sweet despite what she has been through.
 
wishing mango a swift recovery and lots of kisses and hugs, please keep us informed of her recovery. Children like that should be put in a cage with their parents and starved for a week short sharp shock might make them a bit more empathetic with those around them
