Oh thank goodness Claire so glad you have taken him.Keep me posted.Thats vile to palm a sick piggie off on a rescue centre what kind of people are they !! Darcy was fine after his op and dont be alarmed if they want to keep him overnight Darcy did.

Glad he's through the op, fingers crossed he's strong enough for the recovery. Thanks for updating. xx

thanks this is a first for me:(:{ but all adds to experiance even in a sad way if you know what i mean, next time (touch wood) i will know what to look out for,but from everyone on here and this forum i have learnt sooo much over the last 12mths and am still learning has people who have 20yrs experiance are..

Ive seem some horrid things and it never get any easier...

but i do know if he did get another one(touch wood) then he would have to be PTS as it just wouldnt be fair on him going through an op all the time, but i so hope with cystaid and diet change he will be fine-c-c-c-c-c
But as they say if they are prone to them they have a high chance of getting another one x

Buff will be a sponsor pig now for guineawigs rescue, once i know he is ok then i will inform people of what they will get in return etc x

Glad he is ok, I hope you can get him well again good luck.

Bless him, at least he can be in familiar surroundings tonight. Just make sure they send him home with pain meds, he'll be needing them! Keep up with fluids and be prepared to syringe-feed etc. - I know you already know this though.

Best of luck to the special little chap. xx

he is home now and is in a lot of pain i have just given him some metacam which i had in already and brought another bottle to keep in..
he has eatten a little cucumber but is crying when he wees but the vets said he will for a few days..

Don't know why my other post, posted 3times can mods delete 2 please x

That sounds very very sore. Reading it is making me wince poor poor lad.

Did they say the dose of metacam you can give?

Hope he recovers soon

he is on 0.2ml of metacam the dog one..

is it normal for him to struggle to wee after surgery as he is crying soo much when he tries to wee but nothing seems to be coming out,but he did do a wee in his carrier at 4pm x

I'm glad to hear that Buff's operation went well and i hope that he will make a speedy recovery, he is in very good hands with you the lucky chap compared to his other owners.

Wishing him all the best. x x

:)

Gosh I don't know claire - maybe it hurts and he's scared? I am only guessing though.

All you can do is monitor.

Cmon Buff - wee!

I'm afraid I can't help with what is normal to expect, post-op, as I have no experience myself...just wanted to wish him well. So glad that you're giving him every chance to get healthy and pain-free. He's so lucky to have found you x

well he did a little wee on me last nightrolleyes:)) but it was only small with no visable blood in it but he doesnt seem to have passed any poo and is still crying when he tries to wee etc..I'm going to ring the vets this morning and see what they say..

he has just eaten a little carrot tops..

Well that's something - but not the best. Although he did just have major surgery.

Cmon Buff eat up and drink up - get it moving!

I've not had a piggie go through bladder stone surgery, but from what I gather it's normal for there to still be signs of infection and pain for a few days post op. Great that there is no blood and he's done a few pees, I hope he keeps it up.

0.2ml Metacam can be given twice daily - it'd be preferable for most piggies to dose twice daily but especially Buff who is in a lot of pain at the mo.

I do agree with you that checking with the vet is a good idea, I'm sure they'd be interested to hear how he's getting on and will be happy to answer your questions.

Love to Buff. xx
