Poor Peanut

Thank you for asking. He's not his usual self but much better than he was. He is a very timid boy so I tried just giving him his meds yesterday and no CC but he's not eating enough for himself yet really so big bad human is syringing him CC today. I've only managed to get 4mls in to him so far today, thought I would have a go again later. What I have noticed is if I syringe him his probiotic and a couple of mils of CC he goes into the hay box and starts munching. He is also eating a small handful of grass if I start him off with hand feeding, so hopefully he's having enough for his teeth and that won't be the next problem! I think I will carry on with the CC three times a day and see how we go, I want to get his weight up a bit and then stable, over all he's lost 120gms but he did have a bit to spare!

I think when they are given syringe feeding it stimulates the brain to the need to start feeding. I’ve noticed this response when I’ve had to syringe feed any of mine. A bit like Pavlovs dogs response to the smell of food therefore they salivate?. Hope that made sense?
