Having just found out about a 7 week old Teddy that could be a suitable friend for Peppa - just realised that he cannot come and live with us until his skin condition clears up - but that could be up to a month away.

I suppose he'll be too old by then? Or will be be okay?

He's been treated for lice and mites but they think it was the other guinea pig that did it too him.

So they want to keep him under observation for a few weeks to see what happens.

ah yes that would be best to make sure he cannot pass it to yours.

In my personal opinion i think if they are keeping him for another 4 weeks that takes him to 11 weeks, which is a little to old i feel. Can you not ak for him and keep him next door to Peppa until treatment has finished?

Have found out more. The rescue took in a pregnant sow - who was being fed a high protein diet to make her have more babies - she gave birth to six. Four died almost immediately and the other two (sow and boar) lived together but the sow died a week or so ago, leaving the Teddy boar with his bald patch.

The fur doesn't seem to be growing back, despite lots of treatments, so they are keeping him for an other week or two to see what happens as they do not want to re-home him just in case he passes something onto my lot.

I'm hoping to get him before he's ten weeks old, otherwise I shall have to find another boar for my Peppa.
