My 14 week old boar Bertie has lost a toe nail, doesn't seem to be causing him any problems though still running around, Blood has dried up and I'll keep an eye on it for infection,
Anyone else's pig lost a nail?

It happens not all that rarely. You can gently disinfect the area with some hibiscrub or some homemade saline solution. Stir in 1 tsp of salt into 1 pint of boiled, cooled water.

Sometimes the nail will grow back thicker or it can break more than once if it is weak.

Piglet lost one in a traumatic tale that I'm too ashamed to share with people. It bled for a while and was a bit sore but it healed nicely but has never grown back. I just made sure it was clean and kept an eye on it. x
