I was walking home from night shift very early this morning so no shops were open yet. As I was walking, I saw something fluffy sticking out from under a shops shutter in the corner. I took a closer look and it was a guinea pig which had been squashed underneath the shutter. I can't stop thinking about the poor thing and how it must have been hiding in the corner and the shop closed its shutters later on and the piggy didn't move. Have been thinking a lot about how it was even there to begin with and so looked up people releasing their guinea pigs and it looks like a lot of people do it. So awful, was a horrible, horrible thing to see!
 
Oh how awful. I am so sorry you had to see that. What an awful image to be stuck with. People dumping animals are evil.
 
Oh dear! Any chance of ringing up the shop? Sadly, this is the season where guinea pigs get dumped for "better" pets and little children lose interest soon or don't secure rickety hutches properly... :(
 
Oh that is so so sad. What a horrible thing to happen. Our Chinese Hamster (Polly RIP) was found dumped in a box outside a local pet shop. She had one baby suckling which died, she was found by my friend in the early hours of the morning and it was frosty, so the baby probably froze to death. Some people are scum :(
 
It was a horrible thing to see. I doubt it could have escaped as it was a long strip of shops with flats on top of the shops so it's likely one of those flats let the piggy go. Although, now I think about it, there is also a pet shop across the road a few shops down so could maybe have escaped from there?

I can't as I don't have the number :( it's horrible to think about!
 
You poor thing, and poor piggy :( I am wondering if it would be worth reporting to the RSPCA and tell them there is a pet shop near by, wouldn't hurt them checking things out? Seems sad to think nothing can be done after this poor pig suffered xx
 
Oh that's awful - the poor pigpy. I used to be able to read about stuff like that and be sad but not really bothered (awful I know). Now I have Toby & Barney those kind of stories make me feel ill and I could cry for the poor little thing.
 
Poor pig, can you not look their number up on the internet?
 
As my driving instructor would say because he loves animals and hates when people are cruel towards them... "The filthy swines!"
