Splodge (Fanny Adams cage mate) has been making me suspicoius with her weight gain for a while (poor Sophie has been listening to my debates for a while too!) although I could not feel anything but suspected she might have been caught in the pen but really hoped I was wrong, during late night checks i saw what can only be described as a disco in her tummy:(. It is eight weeks since her arrival so she may have been unlucky enough to have fallen pregnant during transport or in the pen that I rescued her from (which had four boars in it).

I was so hoping she was not but they can tuck up a pregnancy if there is only one baby which makes it harder to tell. All sows stay here ten weeks after being rescued just in case and it is just as well as pregnancy is not always obvious.

I am still grasping onto hope telling myself it was the late night and me going bonkers with paranoia but know that it is very very likely please everyone fingers crossed for Splodge as I am sure she is given what I saw tonight although I had been umming and aarhing a while.

Really could 8... for her she and all the other sows have been through so much and Fanny and her are so close. Just really hope I am wrong that would be so nice!

Aww hun, its not your fault.
Thank goodness you rescued her or god knows what would of happened.
Please don't beat yourself up over this.
Love and hugs to you and splodge

Mee too but cisible kicks and then popcorning from her ... I dunno she will keep me guessing got the stethoscpe out and could make outm ovement in there still hope I am wrong! I am not beating myself up just am sad was so hoping she had escaped a pregnancy.

I've had that in the past - is she? isn't she? It does seem to go on forever too and I can't help but be preoccupied with it and bore everyone to death with the umming and ahhing. Ten weeks seems such a long time :{

So I really hope for you and her it's a good outcome. She's in good hands anyway which is a relief.

I look forward to updates x

i hope splodge is ok....there are ten sets of claws, seven sets of paws, and two sets of fingers crossed here for her!

Glad I am not the only one summerlease lol if she is she has a singleton baby tucked up under her ribs! It is amazing some of them look like dinner plates whilst others you can barely tell.mallethead She is acting like a typical sow with a week to go spending a lot of time in her house and eating like a horse so we shall see. i just hope Fanny does not mind being an auntie!

I am chewing my Nails! If she is she should litter within the fortnight poor lass but she is happy and healthy in herself so just got to hope everthings ok.

Sploge has lost weight over the past 5 days so she may not be I have watching her like a hawk and have seen no more kicking type movement she came in on 23rd May having come out of a pen at a local persons place including four boars so pretty soon we will have a definate answer. She is very well in herself and I will keep everyone updated.

Excellent. Makes me think about Flopsy again, we didn't get her until the very start of June.

Fingers crossed for splodge.

We all have fingers and paws crossed hun.
Can we have a pic of Splodge please?

xxxxxxxxxx

The suspense :{ :{ :{ :{ it's agony isn't it Vikki ! ;)

Is she? Isn't she? Come on Splodge - reveal your secret ! :(|)

Course you can have a pic good job she is an indoor piggy :) Will sort one out if she is awake and as soon as I get off the phone to my OH:))

Fanny could not resist getting in on the action and loves to show of her new fuller figure, the hair around her bits is kept very short indeed so I can kep a close eye on her urine output rather than it all soaking into her fur that is growing at a rapid rate...

got some more pics to load bear with me :)

AWWW - she's dorp dead gorgeous! BOth of them!

But as you say it so difficult to tell - she doesn't look THAT pregnant to me...

Have you been able to have a feel underneath her?

Have had feels and there is no positive id there, stethoscope to belly a few odd noises but no discernable heart beat, or anything I can identify as baby movement.

Oh my what gorgeous girlies x)x)
Love, hugs and kisses to you both x>>x>>x>>x>>x>>x>>

She came out of a pen with four boars in on the 23rd of May so last definate date with exposure to boys is the 23rd so 10 weeks from then was 1/8/09 although some pregnancies are 72 days or so. No sign of anything here no pelvis seperation so hopefully we are in the clear :)) Got to take one of sophies boys to the vets soon for a castrate she is popping over today to drop him off) so will book Splodge in for an x-ray to double check all is well internally and to check for OD at the same time :)

That sounds like great news, bless her, let us know she gets on with her scan

xx

Here is Splodge today quietly asking Fanny what on earth I have been worrying about.....

I wouldn't think she was; if she came from the same desperate place as Fanny Adams, she can have just been putting up lots of weight, and good on her!

But as you say - some sows hardly show; so you are probably better off making sure everything is OK.

Yup she is from the same place as Fanny will still be keeping a close eye on her and will be getting her checked by the vet in a couple of days she is fine in herself bless her.
