Hi everyone just wanted to ask advice . I collected squirrel from vets on sunday and have her in my arms at this moment.
She is still not eating on her own and seams to be in discomfort.
She is on pain killers etc but feel she is not getting any better.
Her teeth are fine , she really wants to eat but cant its like her mouth wont chew,
she has been unwell for a month and I'm trying everything in my power to get her better.
Is there anything i can feed her that is a bit fattening as she hates being syringe fed and is very stubborn.

It can take piggies a while to start eating again after dental work. It's good she's on pain killers. It is important to weigh daily at the moment so you can see how her weight is...

What is she eating? Are you chopping up her veg tiny? maybe try some grated carrot. If she isn't eating you are unfortunately going to have to carry on syringe feeding.
 
Hi I have been feeding her on parsley and carrot , critical care , normal food with warm water , everything. I have just put her back with her sister and I put her water bottle to her and she actually started drinking it.Was nice to see.
I am keeping her warm too. with heat pads and loads of fleece.She has bumble foot too which is sore for her so I'm making sure she is not weeing and laying in it. So keeps moving her and she is not walking alot at moment. Bless her . Hope she pulls through.
 
Hi Michell. I have seen members on this fourm mention that porridge oats sprinkled on their nuggets can help to put on weight. Corn on the cob/baby corn is also quite good. I would really try to stick to the syringe feeding. You could also mix some probiotic and vitimin C powder into the critical care. Poorly piggies need extra vit c and also you will then be putting good bacteria back into her tummy and this will help with support her digestive system. I use Oxbow vit c which I get from the vets. I then blitz it in the food processor to grind it into powder.
 
Hi thanks for advice will try that.I have been using porridge oats with critical care and she is not losing any weight at the moment which is good.Where she has bumble foot bless her to I'm finding she is struggling to walk around . I am keeping her as dry as I can .Usng the cream the vet recommended .Just praying that it will heal soon as she is battling 2 things at once. She seams alert and is interested in food but still cant bite down on food yet!
