popped into pets at home in Harlow this evening with my partner to pick up some carefresh and as always, went straight to see the piggies but sadly saw this little fella!

His eye on one side was like a slit and very gunky. Other half called over a girl and told her that he assumes they must know and that they should see to this pig, she said oh yes we saw it was very gloopy earlier but oh dear it's gotten much worse I will take him to the vet straight away. She then walked around the store with him in her jacket for the rest of the time we were in store which was about 10 minutes. Can't believe they "already knew" how bad it was and left the boy in with another pig! Never seen such a sore looking eye. Cried after Id seen him as I felt so sorry for him as I bet if we hadn't commented and had asked to buy him he could have been sold and not been treated for however long. Also hope the oter boy is ok. Sigh. They really are appalling. Hardly any rodents in there surely they should be checked over every few hours for such obvious signs of illness.

Oh dear that doesn't look nice does it which is a shame cos he's such a pretty boy! Are you confident that she took him to the vet and didn't just wait until you left to put him back? (I'm so cynical it's untrue, this level of mistrust really shouldn't be the first thing going through my mind). The only other thing I could suggest is going back to check or calling the council to report it and hope they check out the care they are getting.

I have no way of knowing she was standing at the back of the store at the vet surgery part and I did hear her call another colleague up to the till and explained she had to take him to the vet so I am quite hopeful that she would have taken him. I can't get there tomorrow to check otherwise I would but to be honest from her behaviour etc. I'm pretty sure it was dealt with. Main concern was that they were waiting so long to get it seen to :(

Yes it sounds like she has done it then. Poor boy I really hope it wasn't anything serious :(
