Hi I'm new on here my guinea Boo has a slightly closed eye advice welcome.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I had a similar issue with my pig a couple of weeks ago.
His eye looked fine and no discharge, but he was keeping it more shut than the other one and kept 'winking' if that makes sense.
I took him to the vet and she checked and couldn't see any injury, but she also said this is often the very early sign of an eye infection, so we treated with antibiotic drops for 7 days and he is fine again now.
Just to be on the safe side I would take your piggie to see a vet.

Hello and welcome. Piggies are prone to eye injuries from hay or other things getting stuck in them (design fault!). Or it could be the start of an infection. I would definitely get him checked over by a vet as eye problems can turn nasty quite quickly.
In the meantime while waiting to see the vet you could bathe his eye with some cooled boiled water with salt dissolved in it. Make sure you cool it to room temperature first. Please let us know how you get on.

Hi and welcome. I agree I would take your piggy to the vet. I'm currently dealing with a piggy with a poorly eye. Her cornea got damaged by a piece of hay poking in her eye. I only noticed Friday, took her to the vets on Saturday and can already see an improvement at the end of today (Sunday) so it really is worth acting sooner rather than later.

Good luck and if you want any more support, feel free to just post and ask whatever you like.

Thanks for your replys' she's been to the vets and they can't see anything wrong with it,i've bathed it in salt water for the last few days and it seems a lot better x

Great news. Hope you notice an improvement soon. It's reassuring for you to hear it doesn't appear to be anything bad.
