humphrey is sqeeking wilst toileting i really hope its not stones I'm not comfortable with him being operated on (he is 985g) he seems to have a normal appetite but is quiet and grumpy ive got a vets appointment booked for tomorrow (earliest they had) is there anything i can do to help in the meantime

It's a hard one - as if it's a Uti I flood there system but if I suspect stones I'd be inclined not to in case the stone moves into the penis.

Do be careful he doesn't stop urinating this maybe a sign of a blockage.

Barley Water and Cranberry is fabulous for soothing the bladder.

Buy Pearl Barley from the Supermarket normally beside the lentils.
Boil them for 30 - 45 adding water when needed.
Drain barley - collect up liquid and syringe to pig.

You can also offer the Pearl Barley if they want it - I mix it with some cranberry.

thanks I'm leaning towards stones as humphrey isn't pee'ing much he poo's fine but he never did leave big puddles

Put him on a white towel - to check for blood in his urine. I would also take a urine sample to the Vet. If you suspect stones request they Xray - most vets can do this without GA.

A Uti can cause a lot of pain also - my patrick has bled and went off his due to an infection and crystals. The vet can check for Crystals by doing a urine analysis.

Poor thing, hope it goes well at the vets tomorrow. Maybe worth asking for an ultrasound/xray to rule out stones to be on the safe side and put your mind at rest. Let us know how your little boy gets on.

My little Amelia Jane had the same problem. It turned out there were crystals in her bladder. She had them removed and although it took her a while to recover she is much better now. I hope your little one will be okay. Good luck.

Best of luck! I hope that your vet can get to the bottom of the problem. Ask for an x-ray if you suspect stones, crystals or bladder sludge.

i only asked for humphrey but rocky is now aswell :( they both had a mites jab i cant help feeling it could be a factor

Aww, let us know how they get on. Did the vet test the urine?

phew sigh of relief definatly not stones its a URI so baytril and probiotics for him he was very good mostly rocky on the other hand was a night mare at the vet =/

oh sheeeeeeeeeeeeesh :{:(

at least with a URI you have meds so much better than with a stone and it's unknown's....
