I've woke up this morning and my Jasmine has become unwell. She is between 7 & 8 so a really good age.

I thought she had already passed away this morning. I touched her and she was still breathing. She can't stand and her back legs are spayed out.

I work at the hospital so I have had to come to work. I have placed her in her bed and wrapped her up to keep her warm. My bf is going to go round shortly to keep an eye on her.

I know nature is going to take its course. She doesn't seem like she is in pain. I just want her to be comfortable.

It breaks my heart.

I am going to try and leave work early to be with her. I hate the fact I had to leave her this morning. I have had a wonderful 7 years with her though :)

HUGS!

I am so sorry! It sounds like her time has come and she has gone into multi-organ failure. There is nothing you can do, just make her comfy and keep her warm, but not hot.

She passed very shortly before my bf arrived to check her. I've just taken her to the vets to be cremated.

Sleep tight little one x

Thank you. I take comfort knowing she wasn't poorly and it was just her time. I would hate to of missed something xx

Feeling of failure and guilt are normal for the onset of the grieving process, but you have done for Jasmine what you could. She died simply from what we call 'it was her time'.

In an older piggy, it is a blessing when it happens like this. But the first time usually comes as a major shock. :(
