Poorly Leonard

Still more improvements! His poops are now pretty much all solid, he doesnt need my help to get them out any more, hes done another large wee, no straining, no signs of pain, no blood and no horrible smell. Hes eaten some hay all by himself and I think hes had all the pea flakes I gave him earlier! Hes not paying much attention to his veggies but as long as hes eating more and more by himself I guess that will come in time.

Weee that's fantastic! I'm so happy for you and him

Right, we have some answers at last! UTI, Bladder stone or bladder tumor.

Hes got more antibiotics and painkillers, if he doesnt pee by himself by tomorrow or eat by himself, we go back and look at options. When the vet pressed his bladder a large amount of thick blood came out.
Hes gone from deaths door to reasonably perky overnight so I'm hopeful he can pull this out the bag. If he does well we go back in a week. Fingers firmly crossed..
Just keep in mind that your nursing care and super syringe feeding gave him a huge boost overnight, so good for you.
Keeping my fingers crossed too that any blockage moved when the Vet palpated his bladder. Keep fighting Leonard. x

Aw thankyou, I do hope so..I was worried id made the wrong decision in not leaving him with the emergency vets, but they seemed so sure he was going to pass away I preferred he passed at home surrounded by his ladies..seems he had other ideas haha
Although I did sleep through my 4am alarm this morning so he missed a feed! But hes started to really fight the syringe so hopefully that means hes feeling a lot better.

We had a nice snuggle to make up for it though. Once id cleaned the mucky pups face and feet..I dont have a clue how he managed to get so covered in CC!

I am so so pleased for you and Leonard that he is doing so well. It's horrible when they are ill.

I’m glad he’s getting on better!,
I’m always covered in the syringe feeding - so annoying when I’ve changed my top ready to go out, pop in to see them for a quick cuddle and they just know to lean back and wipe any leftovers onto me!

Of course they do you are their slave and they must think you are hungry too!

Leonard would like to thank everyone for their well wishes and let you know hes feeling fabulous!

Ive been able to scale back the critical care and hes taken over with eating his hay, hes had some pellets, grass and a little veg. Hes happy to take slices of cucumber now which is great...ive never seen a pig so inept at taking water from a syringe!

Great! He’s looking really perky! Always lovely to see and hear about piggies being on the mend.

Hes pretty much back to his old self now, I stopped the syringe feeding a day or so ago and been weighing him twice a day. In total he lost maybe 40/50g which he has almost gained back all by himself! Hes still peeing really well, drinking from his bottle, running around and trying to wriggle away from his medicine! All we have left to do is rule out stones next week :)

Aww good for Leonard.:yahoo: I can't believe he's got better so quickly! :)You must be a very caring slave!

Well, stones ruled out :) we just need to minitor him closely for the next week or so now we've stopped his medications and cross everything theres no reoccurrance.

Mum nipped to the shop for veggies so we people watched in the car..
