Hi I’ve just got back from the vets with a very poorly Milo!
He was fine last night but has stopped eating anything at all today, they have given me critical care food but it doesn’t say how often I should feed him, any ideas?
As far as I’ve seen he’s not eating anything- hay, veg or nuggets but he is still pooping atm.
As long as he is ok with that over the weekend I have to take him to an exotic vet on Monday, although obviously if he goes downhill in the meantime will get him straight to emergency vets

I’m sorry to hear this.
You need to switch to weighing him daily and that is your guide as to how much and how often he needs to be fed. You are aiming for at least 40-60ml per day and feeding every 2 hours.
If he loses weight at each daily check the amount of feed needs to be increased

The guide below explains further.

i hope he feels better soon

Sadly Milo didn’t make it through the night 😔 after 2 trips to the emergency vet I unfortunately had to make the awful decision to put him to sleep.
I am now wondering should I clean the cage out or leave it as it is for a day or 2 for my other pig to still smell him? I’m not sure what to do for the best

I’m so sorry to hear this.

When you clean out depends very much on your piggy - some are ok for the cage to still smell or their companion and find it comforting, some don’t mind either way and some are distressed by smelling their companion but not being able to find them. There is no right or wrong answer in these situations.

Ok thank you, he seems ok at the moment, he’s eating, maybe a bit quieter than usual but nothing other than that, I’ve put some extra toys in too, hopefully keep him occupied

I’m so sorry you lost Milo. It sounds like you did all you could. Take care ❤️
