Well there I was congratulating myself on a herd of healthy piggies when Piggle started squealing when she was weeing yesterday...
Fortunately we got a vets appointment for 8.30am this morning so she's got antibiotics and pain relief. The vet couldn't feel any obvious stones but we're going back for an x-ray next week.
Poor Piggle she has a nasty patch of urine scald by her lady bits and she was most upset by the thermometer up the bum! Not what she wanted for Christmas at all :(

Oh no, my thoughts are with you, lets hope the antibiotic kicks in soon.. i have a scared dot now shes in a different house over xmas holidays. She was doing well yesterday. Not so good now. Not good for her i.c really. But fingers crossed il get her round with some corriander

Well caught. Sometimes UTIs are brought on or exacerbated by a bit of stress, so the arrival of a new herd member may have just tipped the balance. Hopefully the antibiotics will soon have her feeling better.

Poor you, but glad that you could see a vet promptly so it is not getting really bad!

The acute symptoms should hopefully subside within 2-3 days.

It took 3 of us to hold Piggle still for the thermometer, and we all got bitten- she's definitely the most awkward piggy patient we've taken to the vets! Vet Clare was happy to see her though, the last time she saw her was for her first ever health check back in April when she was 12 weeks old (it still took 2 people to hold her still then for her teeth checked even though was tiny!).

Oh poor Piggle. Hope you soon recover. Meg hates the vets more than Dennis. When I took Meg to the vets for haypoke the other week she kept trying to leap off the examination table. It took me and the vet to hold her still and she was struggling then. So Meg is in sympathy with Piggle and says not to bite the Slave and Vet as they are only trying to help you Piggle.

Aah poor girly, you don't get a break much either so poor you! Hope she feels better soon when meds kicked in x
Hope you and OH and piggies all have a great Xmas xx

I think she's feeling a bit sore again now the loxicom has worn off- its very sweet though that when she squeaks in pain little husboar Theo and big boss pig Clover come running over to check she's ok! She's mostly fine, just a cross-eyed, cross-legged burning twinge every couple of hours. Plenty meds for now and a vet appointment next Monday, but the vets re-opens at 8.30am Thursday if she gets any worse.

Oh no poor piggle! I can understand, I wouldn't want a thermometer up my bum for Christmas either. Hope she starts feeling a lot better very soon
This is a drink spitting comment 🤣

I was thinking about someone asking you what do you want for christmas.... you know the rest👍.

But joking aside i hope puggle is ok

Piggley pants is better! Here she is with here favorite junior piggy whisperer who gave her loxicom and cucumber treats and kissed her ears every day he was visiting over Christmas. That kid really loves piggies, he cleaned out the 26 sq ft c&c with minimal adult assistance just to choose the fleece (grey with stars) and to see how happy the piggies were in their clean cage!
