Found another piggy (male) at a well known pet store but on holding him found his eyes to be crusty and he was sneezing in pen when i was watching him. Asked him to be checked by store vet and they have confirmed he has respitary infection and conjunctivitis. They will segregate and treat him and said he should be better within 2 weeks. Is it asvisable to still have him once he is better or is there an increased risk of other problems? We have 2 other pigs and dont want to put them at risk or incure costly bills from a vet further down the line? Advise needed please? Thanks x

I would find out exactly how he has been treated and if you do take him, quarantine him in a completely separate room for at least 2 weeks. Were you thinking of bonding him with your pigs?

We would house them together after a few weeks but he would need castrating first as the other 2 are female. We intended to keep him upstairs for that time as the girls are in the living room. Can they make a full recovery? X

They can do as long as they are treated with the right medication. You could always get your own vet to do a health check too, he will need to be well by the time he is neutered anyway.
