I am sorry for your lost I am new on this website so i dont know how to make my own post (!) I see you have experienced maybe you can help me to find out what was happening I am really making myself sick of it by thinking please tell me if you have any idea what happened to my piggy Pako. I got my first piggy Pepe (on the left) 1 month ago later I wanted to get friend for him and after 2 weeks I took Pako from the same store so I expect everything will be ok because both have been together Pako was really shy cuddly piggy and pepe is really dominant even annoying sometimes they started leaving together without fight but I have seen Pepe was constantly following and making sound also taking his food from him I solve this problem by standing every single time waiting until they eat all the food but realized Pako was eating slow compare to Pepe after one week I realize he had problem when he wad walking, behind legs! and I gave him extra attention so he got better after 2 days and I have seen him popcorning first time I felt really happy I really loved him so much when it was his 12 th day with me I woke up and I went to give them some veggies like carrot romane cucumber pepper and I added brokoli when i touch Paco he wouldn't like it at all everything was ok with him but after 1-2 hours I realized his front legs were paralized and even he had difficult time to move his head It was Sunday so I called the vet she said she doesn't know what is going on because I don't see anything on his eyes or stool and any behavior changes vet told me she doesnt know what is it and keep him eating because even if I go he would be worst he would get scared on our way and maybe not eat at all I feed him all day long with baby food gave him water and hay. At night I put him on bunch of hay and expect he eat and i woke up after 3 hours to feed him again but when I wake up he is standing on the same spot I hold him gently and gave him some water also hay but he was just biting the hay not eating well and I put him not to make scared and i saw he started opening his mouth and make a sound and after these he died I really don't know what was happening with Pako it hurts me so much everyday again and again.

I have moved your post to it's own thread.

I am sorry for the loss of Pako, it is impossible to say what may of happen to him.

The only thing you can do now is focus on Pepe and make sure they are well. I am really sorry for the loss of Pako, they are not suffering now. If you wish to leave a tribute for them in our rainbow bridge section this will show you how to start a thread Creating A Thread | The Guinea Pig Forum

I'm sorry to hear you have had such a difficult time.....

Unfortunately it is unlikely you will ever know what the problem was, especially if the vet wasn't sure either. It's normal to feel guilty when a piggy dies suddenly after problems but you did the best you could.

Look after Pepe the best you can and remember all the good times with Pako.

Poor you :( Nothing really comes to mind for me, seems like a bit of a mystery! You tried you best for Pako, but it just wasn't meant to be:( Don't beat yourself up, and remember he's not suffering any more xx
