The Colonel is a poorly boy - he's lost about 60g in weight since last week (20 of this since yesterday morning but he's maintained his weight all day today) and seems a bit off.

He's a bit snuffly and unwilling to drink much but he's currently eating was way through some fresh corn on the cob. We've had him out most of today and for the past hour he's been lying on a towel with a Karvol capsule squeezed onto it to try and clear his snuffles - this has worked as he's not snuffly anymore.

He's been eating quite happily today (grass from the garden, corn, timothy hay, pellets and carrot) but he's still not right so it's off to the vet tomorrow if he doesn't pick up dramatically overnight.

aww, take him to the vets either way chick, guinea pigs are good at hiding it when they're ill

yes i would take him to the vet.

i am sorry to hear this, and i hope he gets better soon

sending hugs and kisses x

He's a lot better - the Karvol has really helped with the snuffles - and is now happily eating and drinking without help (earlier today we were getting water down his throat with a straw as we hadn't seen him drink anything for a few hours).

He does have a tender spot on his leg though (its where his black fur is so we can't see anything) which I think is where the other one has caught him with a claw when he's been mounting him. The other one is a randy little and very determined - we've had a few 'gooey' moments over the past few days which have had to be removed. Def not a skill I ever thought I'd be able to add to my CV!

Whenever Big Red starts sniffing around The Colonels butt he twirls around and chatters his teeth at him so I figure he must have gotten hurt at some point - not seriously though as he's happily hopping up to the shelf where the food bowls are and stretching to the hay rack.
