My pig Kevin is two and a half. He would jump in the air and sometimes and at times almost roll his back. I looked on the internet and seen that he may be infested by fleas or mites. So, I got him some drops for his skin of a lot of occasions, he doesn't roll on his back anymore though he still jumps and I'm not sure if its because he is excited or aggravated.

I've read on numerous help pages on the internet and people seem to have the same problem, and a lot of people are answering saying their "pop corning". But I thought it was only a thing Pups done.. Am I wrong? is the normal?

Please help
Sean

Hi Sean

Yes its totally normal for pigs of all ages to popcorn i believe, my piggies still do it and the oldest is nearly 6. x

It's lovely to see them still feeling spritely enough to popcorn at 6 @Toffeewoffee, Treacle had been still able to do it at 6 and a half, albeit not as extensively.. It just shows how happy and well they're feeling :)

My 6 year old more than half blind Mali is still occasionally galloping around the living room floor as if she was 6 months old (just not quite as fast anymore) - and still has fun crashing into one of her equally blind mates at the end of it...

It is a sign that your boy is happy, healthy and full of energy. Enjoy!

Grown up pigs will popcorn too... actually, my 5 year old pig still occasionally popcorns spontaneously when she excited or happy or feeling frisky, and if we say, "Popcorn, Linney, popcorn" for long enough, she will usually give a little jump just to shut us up!

All I can say is my 1 1/4 year old, Milo, popcorns and it's a jackpot to have a piggie that popcorns regularly!

I love popcorns I liken it to when you make a baby smile by talking silly to them. I get that same warm feeling, some of mine seem to do it for strange things like hay topup time lol

One of my girls will be 3 next month and the other one is 4 1/2 and they both still popcorn. Both of them have stopped popcorning as much as they did when they were younger, Rio would popcorn every single time i topped up the hay rack, but it's still a pretty regular thing.
