I lost my Domino tonight - renal failure. He dies with me and his sow wife Feather.... feeling utterly broken and little Feather doesnt know what is going on. He is the black and ginger one in this photo. I will miss him dearly - we loved him so very much20200217_182108.webp

Thanks guys.... it felt like he held on at the vets till I got there and once in my arms, gave up. These little furries sure break your heart.... his wifey Feather keeps squeaking so loudly... is she calling for him?
 
Sorry for your sad loss. He knew how much you loved him as he held on until you were with him. They always leave a piggy-shaped hole in your life but I hope you and Feather can comfort each other. Take care of yourselves. RIP Domino x

So, after the death of my beautiful boy Domino, Feather his Guinea-wife was very sad.... because we had 2 other guineas (dominos brother and Feathers sister), it seemed the best idea to attempt a trio.... they went off to the lovely lady at the rescue where we originally adopted the girls. Although they seemed okay in bonding, on the way home in the car Comet (sow) attacked Feather and her husboar Star.... drawing blood....
So.... now she has had to be separated from Star and Feather and is now on her own....
Cant quite believe the journey we have had.....
Comet is now returning to the rescue to find her forever husboar

Oh no, so a full on switch around. So are Star and Feather now together? You'll get there in the end but what a commotion it causes when the dynamic changes.
 
Yes, Star and Feather are now together.... total change around. Having last cuddles with Comet this evening before we let her go in the morning....
Heartbroken....

please don’t feel bad, you tried to bond your bereaved lady to make her life happy with your other pair, I would have done exactly the same, it makes perfect sense. The threesome didn’t work out but I’m sure Comet will find a lovely new partner

Please don't feel terrible. It's one of those situations - you don't know until you try, it would of been lovely if it had worked. You sound like a lovely caring owner. Comet will have a new friend she has picked for herself soon.

Ah, it will all work out for the best. Is Comet going permanently or coming back with a friend? Either way, you mustn't feel bad about any of it, you're doing the best for your piggies and that's plain to see 😘 x

She is going permanently I think. I only ever planned to have 2 guins and ended up with 4 when the boys fell out.... after all we have been through, I just cant go through it all again....

No thats fully understandable. Comet will be just fine- she will surely impress any potential suitors at the rescue & will be in good hands. All the best for tomorrow x
 
Thank you all for your kind words. She will be at This Little Piggy rescue in Richmond... if anyone has a lonely sow or neutered boar.... the lovely lady Heather will look after her I know but I am so so sad....
