Popcorn/popcorning?

I think the term was coined as when you cook popcorn it 'pops' in the pan. I suppose guineas 'pop' in this same way.

edit: oops I didn't explain what it is! ;D what the posters below me have said! Guinea jumping about when happy

They suddenly jump off all 4 legs, vertically. Not very high, but very suddenly and with exuberance. It is a delightful thing to watch and it only happens when they are excited and happy, basically 'full of joys' and can't contain their excitement. Sometimes they run frantically afterwards, or run leading up to the popcorn, and sometimes they even turn whilst popcorning and end up facing another direction. As someone else said above, the term comes from making a comparison with corn 'popping' in the pan - when heated it suddenly expands and goes up in the air and then stops just as suddenly. I think it is hilarious and makes you smile. I likeit so much, it is my username on this site. :)
