My old guinea pig Snowball used to popcorn very delicately, a slight jump in the air very quietly.

Do all piggies popcorn differently?

As the past few days when I am spot cleaning the piggies cage and get to the bit where I am filling/ re arranging the hay rack Fudge starts running in circles in the cage and sort of kicking his legs out behind him. If that makes any sense. At first I thought he was scared but he is running right up to the hay rack and then running to the opposite end of the cage and back again occasionally kicking his legs out behind him. Meanwhile his cage mate is walking about occasionally jumping straight up in the air. So is this popcorning?

Aww they sound happy. I have noticed that they do seem to have their own ways of popcorning.

I was worried as Fudge does zoom around pretty fast while he's kicking his legs out behind him.

I think he must be. When I got them they had no hay at all. So maybe it's a treat to them. (Sad but true) it is nearly always when I top up the hay he does it.

Aww! Thor throws his head about and launches himself in the air while he's running - I thought he was having a seizure when he started doing it! Widget and Pixel do funny little hops and kick their legs out.

Mine all had different ways of popcorning. Jackson would walk normally then let out a huge jump! It always took me by surprise (and him by surprise I'm sure sometimes!) Brillo would literally run and jump like crazy.

They sound happy to me!

Yes Fudge kicks his legs out behind him and does this galloping motion kind of like a horse bucking if that makes sense. He's a crazy pig. Alby just trots along and jumps straight up in the air, all 4 feet leave the ground at the same time. Lol.

Here is a laugh for you all. I took this picture tonight after my spot clean and filling the hay. image.webpLook at fudges little face. So so cute.

3 of my piggies popcorn as you would expect but Nala loves to popcorn inside her ladybird cosy. I got a new cosy today & I think Katie is following Nalas example and is trying to popcorn in it but it's not really working for her. Looks super cute though :)

I've only ever had the two little girls I have now pertaining to piggie pets, but as I've been reading, they all may have their own way of popcorning. My little Ripley runs around and does a crazy bucking bronco move when she popcorns lol with a big ol head whip and a jump. One night I was laying in bed (I can see their pen from there) and Ripley got so excited about something that she started running laps and jumped so high at one point it looked like she jumped higher than the caging! I freaked out a bit of course lol but it was just because she was extremely happy.
