i read this phraze on a guinea pig website, after my piggy bob was doing a lot of very strange jumping, but i just wondered how common it is? the website said not all piggies do it, so i just wondered how many peoples piggies do this?

i find it so funny when bob does it, ill be on my computer then suddenly see a huge black blob jump up in mid air out of the corner of my eye, its so funny to watch when hes bouncing round the cage. but his friend, munchie hardly ever does it, its very rare that munchie popcorns.

so do anyone elses piggies popcorn?

lol it looks so funny when bob does it, as hes a very big piggy lol. i dont know how he can even get himself off the ground, never mind reach the heights that he jumps lol

my 2 boys do this everyday, sometimes when they get their veggies or fresh hay. ive no idea why they do it sometimes. its nice to see, at least you know they are happy :)

Mine often do it when they first go out in the run, its as if the grass is so exciting they just can't help themselves! :smitten:

They also do it sometimes when one of the others nudges them from behind!

so popcorning shows they are excited?

munchie only does it when bob nudges him, but bob pretty much leaps round the cage every day lol

my piggies do it just for fun, but more so when they were younger. They are only about 10months old right now..but they seemed to have settled down since their younger days.

I haven't yet seen the babies do it.. they mostly just follow mum around and hide in their little box!

but yes, it's normal. it's an uncontrolable gesture that they do when they are excited/happy..

thats ok then at least i know bob is happy. he didnt used to do it when he was younger though, thats what i find strange, he only started doing it a month or two ago, hes about 11 and a half months old now

My piggie truffles popcorns when i put him back in his cage after i have cleaned it out. He likes to sit and watch me clean his cage and gives really load wheeks whiles he watchs then the minute i put him he goes mad with his popcorning! 98) :smitten:

hehe my bob popcorns once hes in a clean cage too. usually him and munchie sit on my bf's lap watching me clean then out, then go crazy once theyre back in the cage lol

I thought they were having convulsions to start with!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D ;D

lol i know what u mean, i thought bob was having a fit when he first doing it!

was springing round the cage, and often shaking himself as he did it. one day he shook himself so much in mid air, he suprised himself, and when he landed, rolled right off the raised platform in his cage ;D lol he then glared at me as though it was my fault!

My two boys do it always, But they dont seem to have control over when it happens, Rabbie was trying to lay and relax under the tv stand the other night and every time he got comfy he popcorned and sorta looked at me to say "why you do that" Its funny when hes running across the floor and does it because when he lands he is pointing in the oppisite dirrection. Max just does his straight up and down.

hehehe that sounds so funny. bob tends to do that too, when he popcorns and ends up faceing the opposite way, but he also goes straight up and down too. or sometimes it like hes leaping around the cage lol

I LOVE watching mine popcorn!

It's brill -- if I move anything round in their run or hutch, they get really excited and chase eachother round - popcorning all the time!

Popcorning is the cutest thing ever! :smitten: My two both do it. Boogie in particular goes mad when I let them out to free range in the evening, she whizzes around flipping and bucking like a crazing pig! :D

I love it when they popcorn! :smitten:

Especially when they popcorn and then right after they just dont understand what happened and are like 'WTF WAS THAT'? ;D ;D :smitten: :smitten:

oh mine do it too my 5 boys who live togther 4 are 7 weeks and one is 4 months when one starts there all start and its so funny to watch them all doing at the same time and the baby ones go really high i nthe air somtimes

max dose it sometimes

and holly and meggie do it sometimes

but its mostly the baby boys what do it more

I love popcorning piggys. the way they twist and jump at the same time, :smitten: not long ago we was driving in the country and noticed lambs doing it so cute :smitten: its fuinny to watch the older ones watching the younger ones doing it as if to say yeah yeah we know what you're doing and dont you look daft,

My 5 sows don't do it loads but often when they first get put in the run. Molly doesn't, she's the oldest at two and a half. Do you think they grow out of it? I love it when they popcorn :smitten:
