Poppy's had a nosebleed. Didn't seem fazed by it but was sneezing blood all over the piggies breakfast while they were all eating - so took her out, changed the breakfast and cleaned her up. It's stopped now but I'm taking her to the vets in an hour.
If it's not one thing it's another - it's only a few weeks since she had to spend the night at the vets (very bad diarrhea ) and she's only just built her weight back up from being so poorly.
Poor Pops, healing vibes please. x

Oh poor Poppy, hope she gets on ok at the vets. I have not had any experience with piggy nosebleeds.

Poor thing, first time I've heard of a piggy with a nose bleed. Hope everything goes well at the vets.

Hope everything goes okay, never heard of this before either. Love to Poppy x

Nose bleeds aren't very common with piggies. Caroline has admitted her for the day to have a G.A and x-ray with exploratory ( she did have a good long look in with her light in her mouth and up her nostril but couldn't see anything) luckily they do have a 1mm endoscope but unfortunately because of it's size it doesn't have a brilliant picture - hopefully it will be good enough to show what the problem is.

Oh dear, poor little thing! I hope they don't find anything serious! X

Well, Caroline was very thorough and showed me all of the xrays and endoscopy pictures and aside from a few clumps of congealed blood and pinkish spots couldn't find anything. Her teeth are fine (yay!). So it's either something like a haypoke ( no debris found though so it would have been an in- and out again poke) or something more serious that isn't advanced enough to show up yet. So fingers crossed it's nothing serious. She's back with the posse now nomming hay. Thanks for allof your support guys, I hope that's the end of it and not the start of something.
:ple:

Oh thank goodness nothing is wrong. It is very likely it was a piece of hay.

Let's hope so. Caroline said it could still be deteriorating bone or something just as serious just not advanced enough to show up at this stage. I'm hoping for the hay scenario.

Super crossed fingers that this is the end of this little ordeal!

Lets hope thats the last of it for you and Poppy x
