Both scarper when it comes to being picked up even though they always come running for lettuce, squeaking all the while. Porkie is the twitchiest and most nervous. She is very still on the lap though and will stay for well over an hour of stroking. She never purrs though. At least I think not. She sometimes licks, and when she's ready to get down she gives little whines which always means being put down either back home or for some floor time. Pie will be stroked for about 20 minutes, purring like a two-stroke outboard, before getting bored and making it clear she wants to get down.
Once Porkie was sitting on my lap, cross legged on an armchair, decided to groom herself between her legs, overbalanced and did a forward role. I caught her so all was ok!
Neither of them like being groomed very much.
