As some of you are aware, my Eliza hasn't been well lately and is on antibiotics :( She has lost a lot of weight and feels rather thin to the chunky pig she usually is. She is eating but is being very picky with what she wants to eat. I think it must be because of the antibiotic and tummy bug. I have been advised that porridge oats are good for bulking up but I'm not sure which ones to buy and how much and how often I should mix it with the food? Do I just need a basic bag of porridge oats and will Eleanor be OK to eat them too as she shares the same bowl?

I was talking to someone in waiting room at vets a few weeks ago who said their pig had really regained weight since eating oats, but I've never tried them. Poppet has started putting on loads of weight since she has been eating readigrass though.

When I was a kid we had a very fat piggie called Ginger and we gave him oats cuz he liked them n we didn't know better back then, probably why he was so fat now I think about it. He loved them and got stuck in the oat tub once trying to get the last ones at the bottom. We just gave him and Amber the regular kind that we had for breakfast, but keep an eye out for added salt or sugar.

I've never fed oats Claire but i can say that Readigrass does bulk piggies up & most love it. If you do feed it don't be worried if they drink more as it's known to have this effect on some piggies :)
