Can guinea pigs have porridge oats? I'm trying to make treats for them but not sure wether oats and porridge oats are the same thing!

Oats in general aren't recommended for piggy consumption, as far as i'm aware, although i've known people who have used them. I wouldn't myself, i think porridge oats have more sugars and things in them ? although i can't be certain !

They're safe for piggies, they are recommended for helping pigs pit on weight. Hence why they are a treat, piggies live them :))

Is there a good substitute to them?

as long as they aren't flavoured or in the sachets with something added.
Just a normal bag of porridge oats.

I baked mine in the oven, normal porridge outs take about 4 minutes to cook anyway. I was on about the instant ones that you just add water too. :)
